The 1795 Draped Bust Dollar (Buy on eBay) was the first year for the series, struck the same year as the last issue for the prior series. The new obverse design featured the partially draped bust of Liberty designed by Robert Scot. The same obverse design from the prior series was retained, featuring a small eagle within a wreath.
The total mintage for the issue was 42,738 pieces, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Noted varieties include “off-center bust” and “centered bust”.
