Nearing the end of the series, the 1802 Draped Bust Dollar (Buy on eBay) had a mintage of 41,650 pieces. This represented the second lowest figure for a regular issue, after the low reached in 1797.
Noted varieties for this issue include a narrow or wide date. There is also a “2 over 1” overdate for both the narrow and wide date. Proof restrikes carrying this date were created, with three pieces known. One of these sold for $920,000 at an auction held in April 2008.
